One of my favorite staple foods is the red cabbage.
It keeps for a long time in the fridge and is a GREAT healthy food item to help manage your weight. The BIGGEST plus is that you can buy red cabbage at 99 cents a pound!!
Red cabbage is crunchy and makes a great ingredient for salad and cole slaw. If you like to get a little creative in the kitchen, use red cabbage leaves as a healthier substitute for taco shells!
Here is my substitute recipe for Taco Tuesdays! You can buy store bought canned albacore tuna in water (for those concerned with mercury levels in tuna, as long as you don’t eat tuna everyday, you are safe from mercury contamination). Slice up come organic cucumbers, pieces of grapefruit and celery and BAM! Here is a healthier version of a taco.
Amigos and amigas, this is the answer to your Mexican taco craving!
Red cabbage is really filling, which is why it is often recommended for weight loss.
The crunchy texture of red cabbage is also great to satisfy your craving for potato chips.
So get a head of red cabbage manana and try making my healthy red cabbage tacos tomorrow!!
