The Chinese have introduced hundreds of herbs, healthy foods, and healthy techniques such as acupuncture, to society. One of these food items is the Goji berry. It is known in China as one of the most nutrient-dense foods. Grown along the banks of the Yellow River in China, every spring the river floods and deposits minerals into the soil and the Goji berries absorb the minerals.
Goji berries have often been used as an herb in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), used in teas and in cooking. In Western culture, however, Goji berries are often eaten as a household healthy snack. Goji do have carbs and sugar, as it is a fruit. Goji also provides about 3 grams of protein per serving.
Goji berries are thought to protect the eyes from vision loss, diabetic retinopathy, and is an anti-aging secret.
It is chewy and naturally sweet, almost like a raisin.
